    Abstract:

In this study, the removal of Cd2+ from aqueous solutions by desulfurization products of manganese nodule leached residue was carried out in consideration of the influence of various parameters, such as contact time, solution pH and initial metal concentration, and adsorbent quantity. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)were used to characterize the materials and products. The adsorption of Cd2+ increased with the increase of the adsorbent in solution, and the reduction of the particle size also increased the removal efficiency. The removal of Cd from aqueous solution by desulfurization products of manganese nodule leached residue was based on the ion exchange reaction principle MnS+Cd2+→CdS+Mn2+.
