    Abstract:

    The characteristics of sepiolite and sepiolite absorbing nano-TiO2 particles were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The changes of the surface area of the sepiolite after absorbing nano-TiO2 were investigated by BET method. The hydroxyl free radical (·OH) produced by the materials was measured by electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra. It is found that nano-TiO2 particles can be evenly absorbed on the fibersof the sepiolite which can also disperse the nano-TiO2 particles, and that the ·OH can be produced under the natural light. The sepiolite absorbing nano-TiO2 can not only solve the dispersing problem but also increase photocatalysis.
