Study on Hetian jade from Hetian County, Xinjiang has been carried out by means of electron microprobe, Xray dIffraction, scanning electron microscope, etc.. The results show that the major mineral composition of Hetian jade is tremolite, and the major texture is felty texture. The genesis of Hetian jade, the significance for exploring deposits and archaeology are also discussed in this paper.
